Dear Classmate,
Can you believe our 50th reunion is less than 2 years away? Your reunion committee is already planning a memorable event, & we hope you will join us. But first we need your input.
Some of you filled out a preliminary questionnaire 4 years ago. The results showed that the majority of you favored a Lake George YMCA weekend including a Lake George dinner cruise and possibly an Adirondack Train ride. Unfortunately, we’ve discovered that the YMCA won’t work for us. However, we did find a Lake George resort & conference center (The Fort William Henry) that can accommodate our size group very nicely. It is in a central location & offers rooms from about $139.00 to $190.00 a night (including breakfast, taxes, service charges & a free tour of the fort). We’re considering a core 3-day event with an optional couple of days for those who would like to enjoy the area a bit longer. Late September/early October would be an ideal time as the crowds will have left & the leaves (hopefully) will be turning. The exact time will depend upon other events in the area.
A second idea is to have the reunion in the Delmar area as we have done in the past with the addition of a special event or 2. And a third choice would be to combine 2 or 3 days at Lake George with a get-together or picnic in the Delmar area.
We really want to make this an event you will enjoy. So please respond to the questionnaire we devised by going to our new website at www.bchs1961.org . You can either answer & submit the questionnaire online, or print it out the old-fashioned way, complete it & mail it to me. Either way, please respond by Friday, May 14th.
