50th Reunion Feedback Welcome!

Hi All………

We have begun planning for our 50th class reunion and expect to mail out flyers in the spring to everyone for feedback on plans for the 50th.  In the meantime, we’re looking for feedback on what we have discussed so far and would appreciate it if you would e-mail back some of your thoughts so I can pass them along to others at our meeting.  And why don’t you send this to others in your address book and have them get back to me also.  We were considering extending the reunion from our regular weekend get-togethers to 5 or more days.  Also, would you prefer a summer or fall reunion.  Robin Madison and Bill McMillen travelled to Lake George and met with someone at Ft. William Henry Hotel for information and rates and found there are many activities to participate in up there in the village within walking distance, plus a conference room for class get-togethers.  We considered Lake George for 2,3, or more days and then local activities on the weekend in the Delmar area with our regular Friday night “meet and greet” at a local bar/restaurant, and then a clambake/picnic on Saturday w/DJ, and the Sunday brunch.  Or maybe it’s just too much stuff! Please add your own suggestions so we can see what pleases the most people.  If it runs for 5 days to a week, we can pick and choose where and what we would like to do, or attend everything.

Thanks,

Linda Fuhrman Deleskiewicz

I would love to have the reunion at Lake George-since I live out of state and I love Lake George it would be nice to have it there. The “happy hour” at a bar in Delmar on Friday night sounds good then to Lake George for the weekend. I like the idea of it being informal since some would be coming alone-my husbands 50th reunion from Shaker is next year so I don’t know if he’ll come with me-I’m sure if I beg him he will!

Linda – I think a 5 day reunion would be a little “much”, particularly for our spouses. If we’re voting, I’d support just a number of activities over a weekend.

First of all I love the Reunion web-page, it’s great. I agree with Warren, even though I never did when we were in high school, that a 5 day reunion would be to much. A Friday night get together, as usual, sounds good. A Saturday afternoon get together and cook-out from 10:00am to 3:00pm and an evening (jacket & tie event) with a DJ and dinner at a hotel or country club facility. It is our 50th you know. We had something like this, if I recall, for our 25th reunion. Pat & I can do our MC thing at the dinner event. By the way did you know that Pat Crocetta rides motorcycles and wears a motorcycle jacket with a skull and crossbones on the back. He’s very lonely you know. Also I understand that Dennis Mullen is working in a traveling circus as a tight rope walker and part-time clown. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Mike

Really great to see a 50th reunion in the planning! I’m also looking forward to seeing everyone! Since I would be flying in from Florida, I prefer the long weekend format, such as a Friday night meet-and-greet and something more formal for Saturday night – dinner-dance, perfect! Maybe work in an afternoon clambake at a local park? Since I haven’t lived in the Albany area since 1973, I would welcome the idea of seeing some of the area again. Also, could you please keep it near Delmar and hold it during the warmer months!! Are we linked up with Facebook yet for reunion updates? Take care, everyone, and all the best, Louise
